Louis Comfort Tiffany (American, 1848–1933) embodied the artistic spirit of America's Gilded Age. In the early 1890s, he developed a method of blending different colors together in glass while it was in a molten state, calling the results ''Favrile,'' for which he was widely celebrated.
Each pen in the Tornado Metropolitan collection has the Metropolitan name engraved on the top ring below the knurled twist-top. A serial number (not limited) is also engraved on the ring. The top disc features the Metropolitan logo. Each pen includes an educational insert that tells the history of each writing instrument design.
