In the year 1700, M. Herbin created The "Jewel of Inks" in his little shop on the Rue des Fosses Saint-Germain in Paris. The J. Herbin brand is therefore the oldest name in fine pen inks in the world. J. Herbin inks are pH Neutral and are comprised of All Natural dyes in their fountain pen inks. This natural composition and delicate balance of ingredients is the essence of any fine ink.
"Vert Empire" represents the crowning of Napoleon Bonaparte as the French Emperor at the cathedral Notre-Dame in Paris on December 2, 1804. This event marked the start of Napoleon expanding his empire throughout Europe. The dark green hue of this ink perfectly depicts the emperor's greed in his expansion.
The J. Herbin ink cartridges are made for fountain pens and rollerballs. These standard short, "Snap in" universal cartridges fit most fountain pens or rollerballs. (Does not fit Sheaffer, Parker, Lamy, A.T. Cross, Pilot, Namiki, Sailor, Platinum or Aurora). Six cartridges are neatly and securely packed in cylindrical metal tins.
