The Special Edition Souverän® M600 Rudi Rother is dedicated to the German painter and illustrator whose Jugendstil posters and decorative illustrations shaped early commercial art. Known for his flowing lines, stylized figures, and humorous pen-and-ink drawings, Rother’s work was celebrated in Pelikan’s own poster competitions at the start of the 20th century, securing him a lasting place in the company’s artistic legacy.

The design of this edition is inspired by the ornamental dress pattern from one of Rother’s poster artworks. Through Pelikan’s advanced Aurora technique, a brass barrel is engraved, guilloched, and coated with ten layers of lacquer, each carefully polished to create depth and brilliance. The motif is then printed and finished with a final high-gloss polish, resulting in a striking holographic surface that seems to shimmer with movement. Complementing this artistry is a transparent teal resin cap, section, and piston knob, which beautifully balance the luminous barrel.

Built on the classic Souverän M600 platform, the Rudi Rother Special Edition features 24-kt gold-plated trim, including dual cap bands, a beak clip, and decorative rings at the piston knob and section. It is fitted with a finely engraved 14-kt gold nib with rhodium decoration, available in EF, F, M, and B sizes, and operates with Pelikan’s signature plunger filling system.
