Fountain pens and the freedom of expression go hand-in-hand with the latest collaboration between Magna Carta and Goldspot Pens. Inspired by the Statue of Liberty's green patina, the Mag 650 Liberty Pearl makes Magna Carta's proprietary flexible writing experience more accessible to a wider audience. Instead of the 14kt gold flex nib usually found on MAG 650 fountain pens, Liberty Pearl has a less-expensive, stainless steel nib engineered for flexibility.
While not as soft or smooth as the 14kt gold version, the Liberty Pearl's steel flex nib has more line variation and snapback than a typical "elastic" Jowo steel nib found on pens from Edison, Leonardo, Esterbrook, and others. To keep the ink flowing smoothly, Magna Carta uses the same plasma-treated ebonite feed as with the gold-nibbed flex pens.
In this collaboration between Goldspot Pens (USA) and Magna Carta (India), we developed the MAG 650 fountain pen with gentle, graceful curves that's a pleasure to hold and reminiscent of vintage writing instruments of the 1940's and 50's. Although its not made of solid metal, the shimmering acrylic resin appears the color of copper patina, complemented with polished silver accents and stainless steel nib.
To match the classic look of the MAG 650, Magna Carta fitted the pen with a flexible nib capable of writing Copperplate and Spencerian calligraphy styles . Once you put pen to paper, you'll be taken back to the golden age of fountain pens. Magna Carta's proprietary flex nib provides generous line variation with consistent inkflow thanks to the ebonite feed. Fill the MAG650 with your choice of bottled ink or international ink cartridge (not included). A converter is installed in the pen to start. It is also possible to convert this pen to an eyedropper filler.
