In the year 1700, M. Herbin created The "Jewel of Inks" in his little shop on the Rue des Fosses Saint-Germain in Paris. The J. Herbin brand is therefore the oldest name in fine pen inks in the world. J. Herbin inks are pH Neutral and are comprised of All Natural dyes in their fountain pen inks. This natural composition and delicate balance of ingredients is the essence of any fine ink.
"Perle Noire" was the first created by J. Herbin, and with exceptional quality. He appropriately named it after the black pearl for its preciousness and incomparably beautiful color.
The J. Herbin ink cartridges are made for fountain pens and rollerballs. These standard short, "Snap in" universal cartridges fit most fountain pens or rollerballs. (Does not fit Sheaffer, Parker, Lamy, A.T. Cross, Pilot, Namiki, Sailor, Platinum or Aurora). Six cartridges are neatly and securely packed in cylindrical metal tins.
