The Conklin Pen Company® was established in Toledo, Ohio USA in 1898. Conklin is regarded as one of the most significant and innovative American writing instruments manufacturers from the Golden era of fountain pens until today. In 1923, the Duragraph™ model is launched and shortly afterward is considered to be 'the definitive' pen. The model was named by combining the words “durable” and “graph” to equal Duragraph™. Living up to its name, the new Duragraph™ PVD collection brings the timeless class of vintage to the modern-day. Each writing instrument is covered with PVD coating over the pen’s solid brass body providing key performance features giving additional vibrance, luster, and durability. Physical Vapor Deposition or PVD is a process that uses diverse thin film deposition techniques that focus on vaporizing a solid material in a vacuum environment, resulting in deposition onto the surface as a pure material coating. This material coating is appealing to the eye but also extremely durable, can reduce friction, and serve as a barrier against any potential damage caused by the external environment and usage of the product. Moreover, PVD coating is highly resistant to tarnishing and corrosion, which makes it perfectly suitable for decorative finishes with colors that do not fade. Also, a PVD gold or platinum coating produces highly durable, scratch and scrape-resistant finishes that make writing instruments imperishable. Duragraph™ PVD collection is available in PVD Gold and PVD Blue. PVD gold coating adorns the clip, band, and trim, further enhancing the elegance of each PVD Gold pen. The barrel and the cap display glistening shades of gold shimmer every time the pen turns. Alluring Lapis blue color PVD creates a shiny mirror-like effect covering the PVD Blue pen’s body and cap. Rose gold plating of PVD Blue pen deepens the rich, vibrant blue color of each pen. The cap top is embellished with the Conklin® Est. 1898 logo and the cap band are engraved with the famous Duragraph™ model script font with three Conklin® crescent logos on either side of the model name. This Duragraph™ PVD collection is available in fountain pens and ballpoint pens. The ballpoint pen activates with a twist mechanism and accepts standard Parker® style ballpoint or gel refills. The fountain pen fills via cartridge or converter (included) and is equipped with a premium JoWo stainless steel #6 nib personalized with the Conklin name, the historic “Toledo, USA” mark, and a crescent-shaped breathing hole. The nib is available in Extra Fine, Fine, Medium, Broad, Stub, or Omniflex points. Each Conklin® pen is sold in a luxury blue gift box.
