Crafted using the sophisticated Kaga Togidashi-Takamaki-e technique, the design is built upon a deep black urushi lacquer base, with layers of lacquer and precious powders meticulously applied, raised, polished, and refined by hand to create remarkable depth, luminosity, and detail.

Inspired by a traditional deck of playing cards, the four suits are reimagined through Japanese aesthetics, with each representing a season: Clubs – Spring, Diamonds – Summer, Hearts – Autumn, and Spades – Winter. Together, they reflect the natural cycle of the year and the passage of time.

Each suit also carries an auspicious meaning: Diamonds symbolize wealth, Hearts represent love, Clubs embody happiness, and Spades stand for courage and resilience. Seasonal motifs further enrich the design, with cherry blossoms evoking spring, flowing water representing summer, autumn leaves symbolizing transformation and maturity, and snow patterns expressing the quiet strength of winter.
