An icon of the writing world, the Lamy Safari continues its status as a beloved pen since its introduction in the 1980s. Although it's considered a "beginner-friendly" pen, it enjoys a cult-like status from long-time pen enthusiasts worldwide. One of the reasons why the Safari continues to capture the attention of writers and thinkers is their yearly release of special edition colors.
In 2024, Lamy introduced a new Safari pen generation with the Pink Cliff and Violet Blackberry special editions. Dark, somber tones are accented with a bright pop of color for an exciting contrast that appears stylish and modern.
Pink Cliff has a stony gray body - a matte-finished, grey-blue barrel and cap accented with black trim. A bold, pink grip section and top disc add a fun unpredictability to this otherwise conservative pen design.
Lamy builds the Safari from impact-resistant plastic, making the pen a robust companion that's up to the task. The ergonomically shaped grip guides young writers and is generally comfortable to hold. A distinctive, u-shaped wire clip keeps your writing instrument securely fastened to pockets, pen loops, and notebook covers.
The Safari fountain pen writes with a stainless steel nib tipped with an iridium ball for durability. The steel is plated black to match the black trims of this 2024 special edition style. Lamy nibs tend to write a little broader than other European nib sizes. Lamy nibs can be swapped and are available in a range of tip sizes and styles, including Left-Handed, Chinese Calligraphy, and stub calligraphy (sold separately). The Safari fountain pen fills using the included, Lamy-proprietary LT10 ink cartridge or using bottled ink with an LZ28 converter (sold separately).
