The Conklin Pen Company was established in 1898 in Toledo Ohio USA and promptly changed writing instruments forever when it patented the self-filling pen known as the Crescent Filler now recognized as the world's first practical self-filling fountain pen. In 1903 Mark Twain the legendary American author began his relationship with the great American pen manufacturer and became its official spokesman. Soon after the Conklin Pen Co. introduced the Mark Twain Crescent Collection an exact replica of the original Conklin Crescent filler used and promoted by Mark Twain.
