Works well with my Noodler's Creaper Fountain Pen.
Darker than Sakura Pigma Microns and Uni Pin Fine Line pens. Not as dark as Dr. Ph Martin's Black Star India Ink, bu... view moret that ink is not for fountain pens.
Does not feather on my 80lb paper.
Alcohol pens can pick up the ink and smudge.
I have not left the ink in an unused pen for longer than a week so I do not know if the ink clogs.
Updated Sept 21st, 2021:
After two weeks of use, I do not recommend this ink.
The first issue is the price. Noodler's black inks are half the price and a better product.
The second issue is clogging. While regularly using Platinum ink, I noticed gunk was accumulating on the nib and feed. After about a week of use, ink flow was noticeably inconsistent. After flushing the pen, ink flow returned to normal.
The third issue is the shimmer. This ink has a shimmer similar to pencil drawings; at certain angles the ink will reflect light.
The last major issue is that alcohol markers can pick up the ink and spread it.
Noodler's X-Feather ink is half the price of Platinum Carbon Black ink and does not have the issues above.
Noodler's dye-based inks take longer to clog than pigment-based inks.
Noodler's black does not shimmer like Platinum Carbon Black.
After the ink is dry, alcohol markers do not noticeably smudge Noodler's X-feather ink, unlike Platinum Carbon Black. view less
