Spending time with your "head in the clouds" takes on new meaning with the inspirational design of this Edison Pen Co Magellanic Clouds fountain pen.
Crafted from rods of hand-poured resin from LisaMarie, the Edison Newark Magellanic Clouds entrances with dreamy white chatoyant swirls, sparkling shimmer and holographic blue "rays" shining throughout. Just like the clouds passing by on the a sunny day, every pen has a uniquely spectacular pattern. Plus, each has a unique edition number (of 68 pens) on the barrel with an illustration of the Magellanic Clouds engraved and filled in blue on the cap.
The Edison Newark is fitted with a #6 size stainless steel Jowo nib finished in gold-plated stainless steel to match the clip. The Newark fountain pen fills using the included standard international converter. It could also use standard international cartridges (sold separately), or you could eyedropper the pen. The nib unit can be unscrewed from the front section, if you would need to clean the grip area and remove spots of ink visible through the translucent resin.
The Magellanic Clouds (there's a small and large one) are dwarf galaxies close to the Milky Way. Without the aid of a telescope, observers in the Southern Hemisphere see the galaxies as hazy clouds of stars. The dwarf galaxies are named after 16th Century Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan, who spotted them on his trip circumnavigating the globe.
