Fountain pens that have a gold nib (not to be confused with gold-plated). The nib's gold content can be determined by the karat content. Most are usually 14kt (585, or 58.5% gold) or 18kt (750, or 75% gold). Gold nibs are traditionally known for their responsiveness, springiness and sometimes flexibility while writing. Gold nib tines offer more "give" than their lesser expensive stainless steel counterparts.
