This 2017 collection is an officially licensed Game of Thrones product that features four different styles inspired by the four major houses in the story - House Lannister, House Baratheon, House Targaryen and House Stark. Each pen has a unique color pattern and design that is themed perfectly with the banner symbols and colors that are taken directly from the pages of George R. R. Martin's epic "Song of Ice and Fire."
For House Lannister, a regal red accented in contrasting yellow gold is the dominant color scheme for the rich nobility. The pen features a lion's head for the pocket clip, and a lion rampant on the cap's top, above the motto, "Hear Me Roar." A floral pattern, reminiscent of the Tudor Rose, decorates the cap.
Colored a somber charcoal, but accented in contrasting yellow gold, the House Baratheon pen features a stag's head for its pocket clip, with a stag rampant on the cap's top, above the motto, "Ours is the Fury." A fleur-de-lis pattern decorates the cap.
Only a fiery, metallic red against a coal-black background could do justice to House Targaryen. Naturally, a dragon's head forms the pocket clip, while a three-headed dragon coils above the legend, "Fire and Blood," on the cap's top. A filigree pattern graces the cap.
With House Stark's northern origins, the color chosen for the family's pen is a silvery-white, accented in palladium, signifying the silver glow of Winter. The cap is patterned with a runic symbol reminiscent of Norse artistry. A direwolf's head forms the pocket clip, while the top of the cap shows the direwolf's profile, above the motto, "Winter is Coming."
The fountain pen mode of this collection is fitted with a stainless steel nib and fills using a cartridge / converter system. The nib sizes are available in fine, medium or broad. All rollerball and fountain pens have a screw-off cap. The matching twist-action ballpoint pen uses a standard, Parker-style type cartridge.
Prices for these HBO officially licensed Game of Thrones pens are $350 for the fountain pen, $325 for the rollerball pen and $295 for the ballpoint pen.
